MARIGOLD INDUSTRIAL ADDS SPARKLE TO ITS NITROTOUGH RANGE WITH N100 DIAMOND
When it comes to general-purpose gloves, ask most people what they are ideally looking for and it will be high levels of grip and abrasion resistance, not to mention comfort.
And thanks to the launch of our very latest glove, the N100 Diamond wearers are getting exactly that.
Unveiled at the recent H&S10 Show in Edinburgh, the N100 has been designed with a diamond pattern on the palm that gives it exceptional abrasion resistance and grip, the nitrile layer also provides resistance against any polluted pieces that may be handled.
Palm fitted with an ultra thin protective nitrile foam coating and with a seamless nylon liner, the N100 Diamond is also extremely flexible, offers excellent dexterity and is very comfortable, making it ideal for a range of general handling tasks in addition to quality control and inspection roles where there are no liquids involved.
Available in 5 sizes – 7,8,9,10 and 11 and with an EN 388 rating of 4121 demonstrating its high level abrasion resistance and an EN420 score of 5 confirming its excellent dexterity, the N100 Diamond is set to be a valuable addition to Marigold Industrial’s Nitrotough family.

Polar Explorer stands out from the crowd with Marigold Industrial PF Insulator™
When Mark Starling took part in one of the most gruelling competitions anywhere on earth – the Polar Challenge 2010 race to the North Pole – he certainly stood out from the crowd.
Mark works for Kier, one of Marigold Industrial’s key customers within the construction industry, as the Kier Partnership Homes Safety Manager. Mark took with him a pair of Marigold® Industrial Orange Viz PF Insulator™ gloves, he and his team mate James Davers competed against 8 other teams to see who could cover the 360-mile trek over the polar ice cap to the North Pole.
With excellent wet and dry grip and thermal performance and also available in Yellow, the Viz PF Insulator™ was certainly put through its paces in the early stages of the competition, although by the time Mark made it to the North Pole, where temperatures can plummet to –50˚C and wind speeds reach 100 miles an hour – conditions were too cold even for the PF Insulator™ (offers thermal protection down to -30˚C) – so Mark was equipped with highly specialist full arctic gear.
“Very few people will ever have the opportunity to experience the Arctic and I cannot imagine that any of them were wearing Marigold® Industrial gloves. With our mandatory glove policy on all of our Kier sites, I am used to wearing Marigold® Industrial gloves every time I am out on site, so it was only natural to take some with me!” said Mark.
Competing to help raise money to rebuild earthquake-ravaged Haiti, Mark and James reached the North Pole in 12 days, 23 hours and 53 minutes, finishing a highly creditable 4th. More importantly however, Mark raised over £25,000 towards his total target of £50,000.

MARIGOLD INDUSTRIAL UNDERTAKES JOINT PRESENTATION ON THE FUTURE OF HAND PROTECTION WITH HSE
Further strengthening its position as the leading name in international hand and arm protection, Marigold Industrial was recently invited to speak at a leading health and safety exhibition alongside the UK’s national safety department – the Health and Safety Executive.
Country Manager John Thorne, joined Bob Rajan- Sithamparanadarajah, Principal Strategist and HM Principal Inspector of Health and Safety with the HSE to deliver a presentation on the future of global hand protection, looking at where hand protection has come from over the past 25 years and how technical manufacturing and fibre advances will further enhance user protection and well being into the future.
“We were absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to present alongside the body responsible for health and safety in the UK. It was a particularly well-attended presentation, giving delegates the opportunity to see not only how far hand protection has come in recent years, but the types of developments from both a materials and manufacturing perspective, and increasingly an environmental and employee welfare perspective, and how they are likely to continue to develop in the future, ” said John.
It is not the first time that Marigold Industrial has worked with the HSE in the UK. Previously it joined forces to help raise awareness of the dangers of skin disease and dermatitis within the hairdressing sector.
“As the leading name in hand and arm protection, we invest a great deal in product and materials development to ensure that we remain at the forefront of the industry. This presentation gave us the opportunity to address an international audience about the latest advancements and where the future of hand and arm protection is going,” added John.
